Some of the best local shows bring together musicians and familiar threads from the community. On Friday, November 6, Danny Vega takes the stage with Occupier at Booze Brothers in Vista, alongside a lineup that connects San Diego’s alternative rock scene with friends and collaborators around Vista.
Danny Vega in Occupier
Danny Vega plays guitar in Occupier, the San Diego alternative rock band led by vocalist and songwriter Ernie Longoria. The group also features Ryan Flores on bass and Aaron T. Smith on additional guitars, keys, and synth. Danny’s place in that lineup makes this show a chance to catch him performing as part of a band with a strong local connection.
Occupier has been part of the Vista music community in recent years, playing the Vista Viking Festival in both 2025 and 2026. The band also performed at the Loki Sessions in August 2026, the festival’s pre-event beer release party. Longoria and Flores also play in Sprung Monkey, another link between Occupier and the region’s music scene.
Want to get acquainted with the band before the show? Visit Occupier’s official website for more information.
A night of connected projects
The November 6 bill also features Beautiful Reasons, a project where Dave Nilson performs music from his former band, The Cry, with members of Occupier. Beautiful Reasons is also the title of a Cry album. Dave is a friend of Heretix and serves on the company’s advisory board, making the evening a gathering of musicians and community connections we’re glad to celebrate.
The show is promoted by Vista Viking Festival, High Strangeness, and Heretix Skate Company. For Heretix, supporting a night like this is a natural way to celebrate the people and music that make our local community feel connected.
